Pigmail #3
Hello hoglets,
Apologies for the pause in Pigmail of late; I haven't been in the best of health, which means I've been losing track of the days a little bit, outside of my toils in the ketchup mines for Tesco plc. I've been enjoying the drawing-in of the evenings, and the slight chill when I give Rooseph his bedtime walks, but I'm also plagued by joint pain and fatigue for which I simply must make a doctor's appointment soon (my least favourite thing to make. Top things to make: 1) pasta sauce 2) bad jokes 3) love [ew sorry, see point 2]).
This week I have two very specific goals: revamp my hair, which is in desperate need of a bleach + tone + trim; and eat something apple-y and caramel-y. Perhaps something like this apple crumble cake with a toffee sauce, although I have never made anything with melted sugar by hand before and am a bit scared of the whole affair. It always seems quite treacherous when they do it on Bake Off. Though to be fair, they made the most basic-ass cookies seem treacherous last week so maybe. TV... lies???

I have five (5!!!!!!) recs for you this week as recompense for this issue being late late late. Let me know if there's something you particularly enjoy!
Recs Sec(tion)
- Starting strong with the exact sort of mad video I would have forced my friends to watch on my iPod touch at lunchtime in Year 10: Hänsel's Bock auf Bass. Truly this mad lad has captured my feelings on modern society perfectly, demonstrating that dread of capitalism transcends language and culture.
- Celeb Traitors is back!!! Miranda Hart is there!!! Get into it (yuh).
- Mum and I went to see the new Sense and Sensibility adaptation at the cinema last week. The 1995 film is one of my favourite films full stop, so I was a little worried that this one would be garbáge akin to the Dakota Johnson Persuasion, but it was actually very good! We particularly enjoyed the fact that their sweet little Dartmoor cottage seemed to contain a portal to Mothecombe beach (reference map provided below). Also Norwegian Colonel Brandon was very sexy.
- For fans of Stardew Valley, another farming + town restoration game Fields of Mistria recently released its 1.0 version (and is on sale on Steam until 8th October!). I very happily sunk 52 hours into the early access release and feel like I only got a quarter-way through, without having explored the romance pathways at all. I just started a brand-new save file and am looking forward to exploring more this autumn!
- A bit of a cheat, this one, but I simply must recommend thee recommender, Kottke. I visit this site every week or so and always find some new internet treasure; for example, as I write this I've just seen that someone's made a website where you can watch random TV shows from the Internet Archive? Incredible.

One final note, and forgive me for being sappy, but it was my first anniversary with my lovely boyfriend today, so I just want to say: big thumbs up. Would boyfriend again. Good job, Bob.
okay that's it byeeee see you next time xoxoxoo
